Birita Poulsen
Faroese born soprano, Birita Poulsen grew up in a small village without exposure to the world of classical singing. The first time she heard an operatic voice was on her father’s vinyl recording, the best of Gigli, and she was immediately fascinated by opera.

While at school she performed folk music and her own compositions with guitar, and she had her first lesson with a voice teacher at the age of 18. It soon became apparent that she had both the voice and the talent for classical singing.
