In connection with the release of the album “Sál,” the renowned Icelandic saxophonist Óskar Guðjónsson (AdHd, Mezzoforte) is coming to the Faroe Islands to perform release concerts together with the Poulsen Brothers.
The brothers Bárður and Pauli were born to a girls’ choir conductor and an acoustic guitar virtuoso—and grew up in a world filled with instruments and music.
Both have, in their own ways, traveled abroad to study music—Pauli in the USA and Germany, Bárður in Norway—and now finally live again in the same postal code.
Joining them is the exceptional drummer Rógvi á Rógvu, whom we know from bands such as Plúmm and Terji and Føstufressar.
“Sál” was recorded at Sjónleikarhúsið in Tórshavn on August 6, 2024.
The music is instrumental, and the 9 tracks carry a Nordic jazz feel with elements of 90s New York post-bop.
“Sál” will be released by Tutl, and it will be possible to purchase the album at the concert.
