A “Nattergal” is coming to Suðuroy on April 25, 2026
He is the man who played Gertrud Sand and Günther in The Julekalender.
On the program are songs both from his own back catalog, from his time with De Nattergale, and well-known songs from The Julekalender.
The evening offers both poetic, cheeky, and meaningful content—with a mischievous smile—monologues, songs, and instrumental performances.
He is an entertainer, musician, and composer.
With the ukulele as a solo instrument, he has performed at the Sibelius Museum in Finland, at the Blue Mountain Ukulele Festival in Australia, in Norway, Sweden—yes, even in Tokyo.
His more well-known side is recognized by many as a humorous comedian and musician. This evening he will use his entire palette.
The singing will be in West Jutlandic dialect, standard Danish, English, and “Denglish.”
On stage is Carsten Knudsen, and together with him are a ukulele from Hawaii, guitars, didgeridoo, harmonium (pump organ), jaw harp, and other instruments.
Carsten has wrinkles on his forehead—because his brain is curly.
