John Lennon once famously said: \u201dbefore Elvis, there was nothing\u201d.<\/p>\n
That was then.<\/p>\n
Anno 2019 \u2013 more than 40 years after his death \u2013 Elvis Presley, The King of Rock \u2018n\u2019 Roll, is still a major influence in modern music and he\u2019s still very much in the hearts of the childen of the world \u2013 including the Faroese ones.<\/p>\n
On May 25 Faroese Elvis fans will be treated to a night of nostalgia when Jens Lisberg and his band as well as his daughter Kristel Lisberg, who participated at the 2016 Danish Eurovision Song Contest,\u00a0 take to the stage in \u201dSalt\u201d to perform Elvis-songs and pay tribute to the late rock \u2018n\u2019 roll pioneer.<\/p>\n
This will be the third and latest Elvis-nostalgia concert in the Faroe Islands this winter following highly acclaimed and sold out concerts in \u201cNor\u00f0urlandah\u00fasi\u00f0\u201d in T\u00f3rshavn,\u00a0 Fuglafj\u00f8r\u00f0ur (Mentanarh\u00fasi\u00f0) and T\u00f3rshavn (Reinsar\u00edi\u00f0).<\/p>\n
Jens Lisberg, who is a well known singer in the Faroe Islands, states to Local.fo that Elvis Presley has always been been a great source of inspiration for his music and that he has always dreamt of hosting an Elvis-nostalgia concert.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Our wish is that this concert will be a good opportunity to remember the music culture that Elvis left behind. At the same time, this will also be a good opportunity for curious listeners to open the door to the king of rock and roll, says Lisberg, who has previously interpreted Jim Reeves songs.<\/p>\n
