In connection with the release of the album \u201cS\u00e1l,\u201d the renowned Icelandic saxophonist \u00d3skar Gu\u00f0j\u00f3nsson (AdHd, Mezzoforte) is coming to the Faroe Islands to perform release concerts together with the Poulsen Brothers.<\/p>\n
The brothers B\u00e1r\u00f0ur and Pauli were born to a girls\u2019 choir conductor and an acoustic guitar virtuoso\u2014and grew up in a world filled with instruments and music.<\/p>\n
Both have, in their own ways, traveled abroad to study music\u2014Pauli in the USA and Germany, B\u00e1r\u00f0ur in Norway\u2014and now finally live again in the same postal code.<\/p>\n
Joining them is the exceptional drummer R\u00f3gvi \u00e1 R\u00f3gvu, whom we know from bands such as Pl\u00famm and Terji and F\u00f8stufressar.<\/p>\n
\u201cS\u00e1l\u201d was recorded at Sj\u00f3nleikarh\u00fasi\u00f0 in T\u00f3rshavn on August 6, 2024.
\nThe music is instrumental, and the 9 tracks carry a Nordic jazz feel with elements of 90s New York post-bop.
\n\u201cS\u00e1l\u201d will be released by Tutl, and it will be possible to purchase the album at the concert.<\/p>\n
