DESCRIPTION:Faroese Dance in calligraphy and colors presenting esthetic cooperation between Danish artist Anders Hjuler on painting acrylic and tusch calligraphy and Faroese musician Arnold Ludvig on bass and a diversity of magic electronics . \nLive paint between painters and musicians has many esthetic qualities both for eyes and ears.\nArtist Anders Hjuler will use special tissue called fiber filt which is like watercolor paper. With water this filt produces very quickly a special expanding effect which continues while the filt is wet and can even continue with more water poured on.\nWe will construct an easel- a device for placing the fiber filt and start the concert   from this position with more fiber filt to continue !\nThe artist has made several attempts and tried to grab the drive of the Faroese dance   in calligraphy and colors and the process will be created in cooperation with Faroese musician Arnold Ludvig well known on bass and electronics in  the Faroes for many concerts and arrangements.\nThe artist and musician have made a diversity of experiences before in performances and exchanged materials as to this event and we sincerely hope music and live paint will please a Faroese audience as well as guests from other countries attending the festival Summartonar.

DESCRIPTION:Clarinettist Jože Kotar and pianist Luca Ferrini have been playing together for more than fifteen years. \nTheir repertoire ranges from the Classical period to the contemporaries but they prefer to perform modern and contemporary music\, written in "traditional" style\, jazz and live electronics. They always try to mix different genres and by proposing new works. \nSome years ago they began a project entitled "Music from the Islands" with music by composers from Europe\, then extended to other islands around the world. \nFor the occasion they will present their third CD of this project\, released by the Faroese label Tutl.

DESCRIPTION:Tórshavnar Kamarkór was established in 1985\, and is contrived of 31 vocalists at the ages between 25 – 55. \nThe choir has\, these past years\, worked towards having bi-anual excursions. Kamarkórið visits choir conventions and cultural events in f.ex. Uppsala Sweden\, Slesvig Germany\, Gotland Sweden\, Paris France and New York USA.\nThe choir is very active and usually has two big conserts anually\, not including a slew of smaller concerts across the country. \nThe choir’s repertoiare is extencive\, it involves anything from demanding pieces by f.ex Bach to contemporary Faroese music. \n  \nChambermaster Bernharður Wilkinson\, \nBernhardur Wilkinson \nThe music is a mixed bag\, but on tour to Rykjavík\, Iceland and New York\, USA\, enphasis was made on contemporary and classic Faroese music.

DESCRIPTION:The choir in Christianskirkjan was founded in January 2012\, and consists of 32 singers of all ages. \nThe choir aims to travel abroad on a short tour every two years. The choir has been on a short tour in Iceland and Denmark\, and in 2018 the choir participated in the Nordic Choir Festival in Norway.\nThe choir is very active and has 1-2 concerts every year\, as well as singing for services and other event in the churches around. \nThe program consists of everything from church choruses and hymns\, as well as Faroese patriotic songs. \nChoir leaders are Jóhanna Johannessen\, who is also organist at Christianskirkjan\, and her husband\, Ólavur F. Johannessen.

DESCRIPTION:Thomas Loefke\nCeltic Harp & Photography – Northern Isles Soundscapes\nIslands in the North Atlantic\, like Tory Island – the Irish island of legend and myth\, the Hebridean Island of Staffa\, the Shetlands\, Iceland and the Faroe Islands – these are the places where harpist and photographer Thomas Loefke spends a considerable amount of time every year to compose music. Dramatic coastal landscapes\, the wide open space of the Atlantic ocean and the ever changing sky reflect in the pieces of music written there.\nThe tunes are accompanied by photographs Thomas took during his island travels.\nThomas learnt his trade in Dublin from Ireland’s leading harp players – Máire Ní Cháthasaigh\, Helen Davies and Áine Ní Dhúill. Since 1984 he has been playing professionally and has won several international prizes\, including first prize at the O’Carolan Harp Festival in Keadue. He regularily tours with his band Norland Wind featuring Clannad’s Noel Duggan\, with Riverdance violinist Máire Breatnach\, with Faroese fiddle player Angelika Nielsen as duo Norðan\, with Colorado based cello/guitar duo Acoustic Eidolon\, and as soloist.

DESCRIPTION:Reality Bytes is a 6-man group from the Faroe Islands. \nThey walk the line between deep and easy\, complex and\nsoothing\, with retro-modern sounds and rhythms. \nYou can hear the gospel touches in the music\, coming from the\nband members’ church background\, with the gospel lyrics being even more evident. Reality Bytes had their debut\nconcert in Mars 2019 at a local bar\, Blábar. \nWith a full house\, the band was eager to continue. In April\, the band\nparticipated in and won the Faroese band/singer-songwriter competition Sement 2019\, which resulted in their 5\ntrack debut-EP\, Symhony of Storms. \nReality Bytes is:\nDania O. DESCRIPTION:James Olsen\, by far\, one of the best Jazz & Blues male singers in the Faroe Islands will perform original songs written by Anna Iachino\, Arnold Ludvig\, and Herluf Lutzen.  James won his 1st music prize with Rógvi á Rógvu and Arnold Ludvig at the young age of 13 with PlayBoys.  James Olsen has performed many Jazz concerts with The Tórshavnar Big Band\, including a tribute to Ella & Louis Armstrong. James Olsen is an exciting and entertaining performer with remarkable scatting and vocal percussion abilities. James Olsen Band\, a fantastic ensemble of talent will delight audiences with a memorable performance.

DESCRIPTION:In 1995\, seven young Faroese musicians formed an ensemble with the main purpose to perform\nand promote Faroese music. This ensemble is Aldubáran. Today Aldubáran has 13 members\nplaying the flute\, clarinet\, horn\, trumpet\, violin\, viola\, cello\, guitar\, and piano. This rather\nuntraditional combination of instruments makes for great diversity in concerts and gives scope\nfor composers. Aldubáran has commissioned and premièred a vast number of works by\nFaroese and foreign composers which have been well received by the press and public.

DESCRIPTION:Vernissage in accordance with Gurið Poulsen’s and Rannvá Mortenensen’s art exhibition.\nTvøryri’s brass band will be playing. \nSalt to the Earth – Salt of the Earth. \nThe salt balance is crucial for whether nature is alive or deserted. \nAt the exhibition\, we start with the special function that the house has had. With the title we also refer to the spiritual dimension\, the special perspective of human beings on their journey from origin to destruction. We start with the material salt and the silo’s special location by the sea. \nThe work is an installation that takes the form of a large three-dimensional salt crystal. A construction of wood approximately 5l x 5w x 4h meters\, which you can enter and thus become part of with your own body. \nAs you get closer to the sculpture/installation\, you will find smaller works of mixed media that illuminate these topics from different angles: salt balance\, ecosystem\, creatures\, treasures\, body\, and nature’s fragility. \nThe perspective is on the lost paradise on one side and on the other the doubt and anxiety for what is coming. \n  \nthe day \ntakes off her dress \nof blue wind \nraw milk \nand salt \n  \ntwo dry salt streaks on the cheeks \nwind-blown desert on the face \nout of solitude grows a thistle flower \nastonishingly mean \nthe purple tentacles blindly searching for light \n
