DESCRIPTION:Um: \n \nWE AT SEA \nPressemeddelelse 2021 \nWe At Sea er dansk-færøske Rebekka Søndergaard Mortensens singer/songwriter projekt\, og er melankolsk indie popmusik med smukke og inderlige fortællinger. Hendes store\, nærværende og spirituelle vokal får roen til at sænke sig i det enkle og smukke klangbillede. \nWe At Sea henter meget af sin inspiration i andre nordiske kvindelige\, stærke sangere og sangskrivere som danske Oh Land\, britiske Feist\, norske Ane Brun\, og færøske Eivør\, og det høres tydeligt\, da der er et meget  tmosfærisk\,\ndrømmende og nordisk udtryk i hendes sange på debut EP’en ”We At Sea” fra 2015 og på hendes anden og nyeste EP ”Disappear” der udkom 30. november 2018.We At Sea havde i 2016 sin debut og har sidenhen udgivet to stærke singler fra den seneste EP ’Disappear’ – hvor hittet ”Waiting” (udkom d. 23 november 2018) og sommernummeret ”Disappear” (udkom d. 28 juni 2019) hvor færøske Marius Ziska gæsteoptræder\, der kom i A-rotation bl.a. på DR P4 og i den færøske radio. \nWe At Sea har mange koncerter på cv’et\, og afholdt sidste år en større plade-release koncert i Literaturhaus d. 20. oktober med både band\, strygertrio og et rytmisk kor.\nForinden havde We At Sea spillet tre koncerter på Færøerne i efteråret d. 20-22 september bl.a. i Nordens Hus i Tórshavn. Ikke mindst i kølvandet på deres to seneste album\, ‘Heartland’ fra 2018 og ‘Astoria’ fra 2020\, som begge var Ugens Album på P5\, og som har fået overvældende ros fra både danske og internationale anmeldere. \nThe Consolations musik er blevet kaldt alt lige fra “americana” til “country rock” til “alternativ country” og “hjertelandsrock”. Bandets inspiration udspringer da også fra de amerikanske traditioner\, og musikken rummer elementer af både country\, roots\, folk\, rock og blues. I tourbussen lytter medlemmerne til både nyt og gammelt\, og lader sig påvirke af både country-koryfæer som Johnny Cash\, Waylon Jennings og Willie Nelson\, country rock helte som The Band\, Eagles\, Tom Petty og Bruce Springsteen\, og kontemporære navne som Jason Isbell\, Sturgill Simpson og Chris Stapleton. \nMen når det er sagt\, så er The Consolation et band med sin helt egen sound\, hvor “den gode melodi” og det originale arrangement til enhver tid vejes højere end at skulle leve op til genrekonventionerne. Og netop gode melodier\, dem er bandet i høj grad leveringsdygtig i. Mange af hvilke finder vej til æteren\, hos blandt andre radioværter som Alex Nyborg Madsen\, Ole Jacobsen\, Jørgen de Mylius m.fl.\, der alle har fået øjnene op for The Consolations kvaliteter som sangsmede. \nBandet\, der har medlemmer fra hele landet\, men til daglig har base i København\, består af Leif Bruun (pedalsteel guitar)\, Sven Busck Andersen (trommer)\, Jacob Svensson-Hahn (bas)\, Vincent Daly (guitar) og så selvfølgelig sangskriver og komponist Nis Gaarde (vokal\, guitar)\, hvis varme baryton sangstemme er med til at give The Consolation et udtryk\, der er helt unikt for den danske scene. DESCRIPTION:Dear foreigners in Suðuroy \nWe would like to invite you to an information event at Salt á Drelnesi in Tvøroyri on Sunday\, September 12th at 14:00 in relation to Faroese as a second language course for non-Faroese speakers starting in the fall.\nThe purpose of the information event is to inform you about Faroese as a second language program\, which is based on the Common European Framework of References for Languages (CEFR) and what possibilities you have on learning Faroese\, society\, and culture as well as how and where you can sign up for the Faroese as a second language program. \nThe language program begins at the end of September for a duration of 15 weeks. It is possible to sign up on the day of the event and meet and greet the teachers.\nAt the event\, two representatives working with integration from the Faroese Immigration Office will attend\, David Im\, integration coordinator\, and Durita Kastalag\, integration officer.\nThey will present a short presentation about their work and the type of integration services available for you to use. DESCRIPTION:Spring 2020 had big plans for Eivør to come to Suðuroy\, but this\, and with well known reason\, was delayed.  Now the time has come\, and 14. august you will have the chance to experience Eivør and her band perform at SALT. \nThis concert will\, hopefully\, be the start of a long tour\, early this fall. \nSeptember 2020\, saw Eivør’s album “Segl” the light of day. Eivør was supposed tohave her big European tour\, but due to covid-19\, this was cancelled\, all but her concerts at the Nordic house (Tórshavn).\nAfter the Nordic house concert a critic wrote these words ~ “Eivør’s concert is more than just beautiful singing and music performed by Faroe islands’ finest mucisians. Eivør is so much more than this. It’s the colours\, beautiful lighting\, perfect sound and Eivør’s friendly aura that makes a complete experience”. \nJoining Eivør are:\nMikael Blak\, Per Ingvald Højgaard Petersen and Mattias Kapnas. \nEivør will be performing songs off of her newest album and older songs aswell. \nThe doors open at 8pm and the concert starts at 9pm. \nTicket sales are limited.

DESCRIPTION:Andrias Blaasvær and Helena Joensen started the precollege music school Musikkmiðnám in 2015 in Tórshavn on the Faroe Islands. \nThey won first and second prize respectively in the competition Stella Polaris in 2017 and their duo\, which was formed in 2018 has been playing all around Faroe Islands and in Denmark. \nThey are at the moment studying on The Royal Danish Music Conservatory in Copenhagen\, Andrias with Elisabeth Zeuthen Schneider and Helena with Emil Gryesten Jensen.

DESCRIPTION:Faroese Dance in calligraphy and colors presenting esthetic cooperation between Danish artist Anders Hjuler on painting acrylic and tusch calligraphy and Faroese musician Arnold Ludvig on bass and a diversity of magic electronics . \nLive paint between painters and musicians has many esthetic qualities both for eyes and ears.\nArtist Anders Hjuler will use special tissue called fiber filt which is like watercolor paper. With water this filt produces very quickly a special expanding effect which continues while the filt is wet and can even continue with more water poured on.\nWe will construct an easel- a device for placing the fiber filt and start the concert   from this position with more fiber filt to continue !\nThe artist has made several attempts and tried to grab the drive of the Faroese dance   in calligraphy and colors and the process will be created in cooperation with Faroese musician Arnold Ludvig well known on bass and electronics in  the Faroes for many concerts and arrangements.\nThe artist and musician have made a diversity of experiences before in performances and exchanged materials as to this event and we sincerely hope music and live paint will please a Faroese audience as well as guests from other countries attending the festival Summartonar.

They always try to mix different genres and by proposing new works. \nSome years ago they began a project entitled "Music from the Islands" with music by composers from Europe\, then extended to other islands around the world. \nFor the occasion they will present their third CD of this project\, released by the Faroese label Tutl.

DESCRIPTION:Tórshavnar Kamarkór was established in 1985\, and is contrived of 31 vocalists at the ages between 25 – 55. \nThe choir has\, these past years\, worked towards having bi-anual excursions. Kamarkórið visits choir conventions and cultural events in f.ex. Uppsala Sweden\, Slesvig Germany\, Gotland Sweden\, Paris France and New York USA.\nThe choir is very active and usually has two big conserts anually\, not including a slew of smaller concerts across the country. \nThe choir’s repertoiare is extencive\, it involves anything from demanding pieces by f.ex Bach to contemporary Faroese music. \n  \nChambermaster Bernharður Wilkinson\, \nBernhardur Wilkinson \nThe music is a mixed bag\, but on tour to Rykjavík\, Iceland and New York\, USA\, enphasis was made on contemporary and classic Faroese music.

DESCRIPTION:The choir in Christianskirkjan was founded in January 2012\, and consists of 32 singers of all ages. \nThe choir aims to travel abroad on a short tour every two years. The choir has been on a short tour in Iceland and Denmark\, and in 2018 the choir participated in the Nordic Choir Festival in Norway.\nThe choir is very active and has 1-2 concerts every year\, as well as singing for services and other event in the churches around. \nThe program consists of everything from church choruses and hymns\, as well as Faroese patriotic songs. \nChoir leaders are Jóhanna Johannessen\, who is also organist at Christianskirkjan\, and her husband\, Ólavur F. DESCRIPTION:Thomas Loefke\nCeltic Harp & Photography – Northern Isles Soundscapes\nIslands in the North Atlantic\, like Tory Island – the Irish island of legend and myth\, the Hebridean Island of Staffa\, the Shetlands\, Iceland and the Faroe Islands – these are the places where harpist and photographer Thomas Loefke spends a considerable amount of time every year to compose music. Dramatic coastal landscapes\, the wide open space of the Atlantic ocean and the ever changing sky reflect in the pieces of music written there.\nThe tunes are accompanied by photographs Thomas took during his island travels.\nThomas learnt his trade in Dublin from Ireland’s leading harp players – Máire Ní Cháthasaigh\, Helen Davies and Áine Ní Dhúill. Since 1984 he has been playing professionally and has won several international prizes\, including first prize at the O’Carolan Harp Festival in Keadue. He regularily tours with his band Norland Wind featuring Clannad’s Noel Duggan\, with Riverdance violinist Máire Breatnach\, with Faroese fiddle player Angelika Nielsen as duo Norðan\, with Colorado based cello/guitar duo Acoustic Eidolon\, and as soloist.
