DESCRIPTION:Lisberg looks to resurrect rock ‘n’ roll spirit of Elvis \n  \nJohn Lennon once famously said: ”before Elvis\, there was nothing”. \nThat was then. \nAnno 2019 – more than 40 years after his death – Elvis Presley\, The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll\, is still a major influence in modern music and he’s still very much in the hearts of the childen of the world – including the Faroese ones. \nOn May 25 Faroese Elvis fans will be treated to a night of nostalgia when Jens Lisberg and his band as well as his daughter Kristel Lisberg\, who participated at the 2016 Danish Eurovision Song Contest\,  take to the stage in ”Salt” to perform Elvis-songs and pay tribute to the late rock ‘n’ roll pioneer. \nThis will be the third and latest Elvis-nostalgia concert in the Faroe Islands this winter following highly acclaimed and sold out concerts in “Norðurlandahúsið” in Tórshavn\,  Fuglafjørður (Mentanarhúsið) and Tórshavn (Reinsaríið). \nJens Lisberg\, who is a well known singer in the Faroe Islands\, states to Local.fo that Elvis Presley has always been been a great source of inspiration for his music and that he has always dreamt of hosting an Elvis-nostalgia concert. \n– Our wish is that this concert will be a good opportunity to remember the music culture that Elvis left behind. DESCRIPTION:It is not often one gets to hear samples and syntheses of musics of those residing immediately below the North Pole\, especially at many different longitudes. Yggdrasil (named for the Norse tree of life) allows us that opportunity\, drawing on the soundscapes and mythologies of the “circum-Arctic” region\, specifically the Faroe Islands\, Siberia\, northwestern Canada\, and the Aleutian Islands.\nThe cinematic compositions and arrangements of Faroese multi-instrumentalist Kristian Blak and Russian singer Vera Kondrateva temper the older traditional materials with clarity and sublime sensitivity. \nThe member of the band are: Vera Kondrateva (vocals and percussion)\, Heðin Ziska Davidsen (guitar)\, Kristian Blak (piano)\, Mikael Blak (bass) \nTickets are sold at the venue. \n

DESCRIPTION:In 1995 seven young Faroese musicians formed an ensemble with the main purpose to perform and promote Faroese music. This ensemble is Aldubáran. \nEvery year\, Aldubáran is featured at Summartónar\, the annual festival of contemporary and classical music in the Faroe Islands. The ensemble and individual members have released CDs and recorded for radio and television at home as well as abroad. \nAlbeit Faroese music plays a major part in their programmes the masterpieces of the music literature are equally important. \n  \nThis particular concert consists of Øssur Bæk\, violin\, Páll Sólstein\, horn and Jóannes Andreasen\, piano\, \nperforming music by Brahms and Shen. \nTickets are sold at the venue.
