DESCRIPTION:Mattias Kapnas is a classical pianist who also plays a wide range of contemporary music. \nMattias took his master’s degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Music\, where one of his focuses was Faroese piano music. In 2017 he released his first record as a soloist with music by Faroese composer Kristian Blak. This year his second record will be released with music by Pauli í Sandagerði. \nMattias lives in Sandavágur and in addition to working in a variety of musical projects he plays concerts regularly in the Faroe Islands and abroad\, as a soloist\, and in other musical combinations. \nIn light of the record release\, the programme for Mattias’ concerts in Summartónar 2022 will exclusively feature music by Faroese composer Pauli Í Sandagerði.

DESCRIPTION:The choir Ljómur was founded on February 19 th in 1939\, in connection with the consecration of the new church in Vági.\nElla Nolsøe (b. Dahl) og Edith Dahl were the pioneers in the choir´s early years. Edith was the head of the choir for almost 20 years. Since then Ellen Dahl\, Jóannes Nolsøe and Dorte Tilma – amongst others – have been in charge of the choir. \nThe choir´s schedule has always been based on hymns and songs\, the main goal being to support the hymn singing during the service.\nFrom the beginning the All Saint´s Day concert on the first Sunday of November has formed an integral part of the choir.\nThe choir Ljómur frequently has domestic and abroad singing events.\nAlthough these last years bear the mark of shifting choirmasters\, the choir has remained active to this day. \nBenjamin Gaasedal from Tórshavn is the current choirmaster of Ljómur.

Som at kradse et myggestik\, eller gå med en sten i skoen\, der gør ondt på den gode måde\, føles Trio Svin bare\nfantastisk\, selvom det er lidt forbudt at elske dem.\nMed glimt i øjet\, en vanvidsagtig musikalsk tilgang\, masser af smart-i-en-fart attitude og en base solidt plantet i nordisk og amerikansk folkemusik udfylder Trio Svin et behov ingen vidste at de havde.\nSom en røvfuld hvor der ikke er blevet sparet på tandsmøret – katharsis i folkemusikform. \nDeres kompromisløse\, rå og autentiske attitude resulterede 2015 i en nominering ved DMA folk som “årets talent” og igen i 2020 ved DMA roots. DESCRIPTION:Children 0-12 free entry \nThe Danish Vocal Ensemble Dopplers is composed of 7 vocalists – one of them being Faroese Tóra Vestergaard.\nThe group sings a broad repertoire within multiple genres such as folk\, pop\, world and classical music\, and they eagerly experiment with combining these genres. \nDopplers´ goal is to innovate the traditional concert having a specific focus on communicative performance through introductions\, choreographies and audience participation. The group composes and arranges a great amount of their repertoire though they also incorporate known pieces and compositions. \nIn October 2021 Dopplers released their new CD called NORD with original music and new arrangements of Nordic folk music. The lyrics are in the Nordic languages: Faroese\, Danish\, Swedish and Norwegian. The concert will be a live-performance of NORD. \nThe Faroese multi-artist Heiðrikur á Heygum created and designed the artwork on NORD. I tourbussen lytter medlemmerne til både nyt og gammelt\, og lader sig påvirke af både country-koryfæer som Johnny Cash\, Waylon Jennings og Willie Nelson\, country rock helte som The Band\, Eagles\, Tom Petty og Bruce Springsteen\, og kontemporære navne som Jason Isbell\, Sturgill Simpson og Chris Stapleton. \nMen når det er sagt\, så er The Consolation et band med sin helt egen sound\, hvor “den gode melodi” og det originale arrangement til enhver tid vejes højere end at skulle leve op til genrekonventionerne. DESCRIPTION:Spring 2020 had big plans for Eivør to come to Suðuroy\, but this\, and with well known reason\, was delayed.  Now the time has come\, and 14. august you will have the chance to experience Eivør and her band perform at SALT. \nThis concert will\, hopefully\, be the start of a long tour\, early this fall. \nSeptember 2020\, saw Eivør’s album “Segl” the light of day. Eivør was supposed tohave her big European tour\, but due to covid-19\, this was cancelled\, all but her concerts at the Nordic house (Tórshavn).\nAfter the Nordic house concert a critic wrote these words ~ “Eivør’s concert is more than just beautiful singing and music performed by Faroe islands’ finest mucisians. Eivør is so much more than this. It’s the colours\, beautiful lighting\, perfect sound and Eivør’s friendly aura that makes a complete experience”. \nJoining Eivør are:\nMikael Blak\, Per Ingvald Højgaard Petersen and Mattias Kapnas. \nEivør will be performing songs off of her newest album and older songs aswell. \nThe doors open at 8pm and the concert starts at 9pm. \nTicket sales are limited.
